Experimenting With Album Covers

During this stage, I’m exploring how I want to design my digipak. Firstly, I want to create an album cover that can represent the song I choose. To get some inspiration, I looked at well-known album covers from bands like The Beatles and The StrokesThe Beatles often used collage-style artwork that feels creative and experimental, while The Strokes tend to use bold imagery and simple but striking designs. Looking at these examples helped me understand how album covers can communicate a band’s style and personality through their visual choices. Making these album covers, I used digital media tools including Canva, and Pinterest. These platforms allowed me to test typography, colour schemes, and composition. For the first example, I selected the font "BLAST" from Pinterest, inserted a photo of myself, and changed the background to a dark blue, creating a superhero-inspired visual motif. I continued experimenting with different images of myself and my friends, applying filters, layering, and collage techniques to see how each element affected the overall aesthetic.

Through this process of trial and error, I learned more and more about graphic design and educated myself by watching videos on color theory, and what makes a good album cover.
