Final Logo Product

For my final product, I looked on Pinterest for a TV image so I could place an album cover I liked inside the screen and layer the Summit logo over it. I decided not to use the Funkadelic album cover in the end and instead chose Joy Division’s Live in Amsterdam LP cover because I liked that it showed people rather than a single figure. To me, this links to the theme of self-assurance, as even though there are many people around, everyone is absorbed in their own lives, and it suggests that your own mindset and identity are what really matter. The TV itself became a green figure I found on Pinterest, which I interpreted as representing the mind, with the screen showing what the character is focused on. Placing the album cover inside the TV and the Summit logo on top helped tie together the ideas of independence, perspective, and being confident in your own direction.

I wanted to use Talking Head's Speaking In Tongue's album cover because I thought it was interesting the pattern, but I thought it was too harsh on the eyes. I wanted the colors of the logo to stand out which is why the neon green of the figure was perfect and I removed the background of the figure leaving just a cut out figure. I wanted the colors to catch my audience's attention but not be so harsh on the eyes which is why I opted for the option of making the background blue matching Joy Division's album cover and make the logo purple to give it a spark. After looking at colour palletes and how they affect a band, I took away that the colors should be recognizable and my neon green going with blue and dark pink are very distinguishable to the audience.
