Location Scouting

For my music video, I planned specific locations that will help show the main character’s journey and the reality of the world around her. The first location will be a cafe, where Sara can be shown in a quiet, reflective moment, setting the tone. I prefer to shoot during the night, as this gives the footage a more intimate and moody atmosphere, while also allowing streetlights, and reflections to create interesting visuals.

I'm planning on shooting the establishing shots and beginning scenes at Ottoto Cafe because it closes until 9pm giving us time to film there and change outfits, in case we need to. I'm going to also plan a scene in the bathroom where she looks at herself in the mirror. I'm even thinking of a scene where she browses the sections of the cafe here, and the camera is behind her. 

The second location will be the metro station, which will allow me to capture everyday life and strangers moving around her, showing that life continues around her while she is absorbed in her own world. I want shots of her walking around here, shots of the subway leaving, and her dancing in the corridors of the station. 

And lastly the third location will be the park near the Charles de Gaulle statue, where she can dance freely, jump, and express herself without restriction, highlighting her carefree and emotional movements.  It is not crowded here at night which is exactly the kind of location I needed. 

Although these are the 3 main locations the audience will be familiar with , throughout the city, I also plan to capture cars, bicycles, and pedestrians to make the setting feel realistic.
